EU-Japan Friendship Week

Since 2001 the EU-Japan Friendship Week integrates cultural, social, educational, academic and sports events taking place around May 9th - Europe Day.

Friendship Week aims to mix fun, friendly exchanges with information, and endeavours to give the Japanese public a chance to learn more about the European Union. The Delegation organizes selected events, and sponsors or encourages many others.

Some actions for 2012:

  • 6th Edition of the EU School Project: around 96 schools across Japan and 44,000 students receive EU diplomats.
  • EU Film Days, 10th edition of the film festival, with planned screenings for Tokyo and Fukuoka.
  • Europe House Open Day at the new Delegation building in Minami-Azabu. LINK
  • EU Road Show, where a EU-themed bus travels around Japan.
    And
  • multiple events at the EU i (EU information centres) across Japan.
